Drivers Software Release for IBM iSCSI Server Adapters version 3.0 (8/14/2006) ========================================================================================= This is the drivers software CD release for the IBM iSCSI Server Adapters for eServer xSeries. The adapters include: Option 73P3601: IBM iSCSI Server Adapter Option 30R5201: IBM iSCSI Server TX Adapter Option 30R5501: IBM iSCSI Server SX Adapter These adapters are based on QLogic QLA4010C, QLA4050C, and QLA4050 iSCSI/TOE HBAs. The adapters will be used as iSCSI hardware initiators in IBM eServer xSeries servers or eServer pSeries HV Linux servers. The iSCSI Target platforms supported include xSeries TotalStorage DS300 and iSeries iSCSI Target server offerings. This software release supports Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows 2003, and Linux 2.4 and 2.6 including RHEL 3.0 and 4.0 and Novell SLES 8.0 and 9.0, for both x86/IA32 and x64/AMD64 platforms The Windows 2000 and 2003 drivers and related software are included in this package. These drivers are Microsoft digitally signed. For the drivers software for Linux Red Hat and SLES, a QLogic support URL is also provided. Linux drivers support x86/IA32, x64, and AMD64 platforms. Note that the official 64-bit support for x64 and AMD64 is dependent on the iSCSI Target system. Currently, xSeries TotalStorage DS300 and iSeries i5 iSCSI solutions support only 32-bit. Please read the flash.txt in \FwBIOS for details. 2) Install SANSurfer sw for Windows: Go to the \WinSAN directory. During configuration with SANsurfer, if prompted for a pw, the pw is "config". 3) Install the HBA as an Initiator iSCSI Adapter in Windows: For Windows 2000, go to the \W32SCSI directory. Read the readme and follow install instructions. For Windows 2003, go to \W32STOR directory or \W64STOR directory. Read the readme and follow install instructions. 4) Note that these HBAs are capable of dual iSCSI/NIC functions. By default, a NULL driver will be installed to disable the ethernet function when the system detects the hardware as both an ethernet device and a storage SCSI device, if you point the installation to \W32SCSI or \W32STOR for iSCSI installation. To also use each HBA as an ethernet adapter, go to \W32NDIS or \W64NDIS and read the readme for appropriate install instructions. For more details for all of the above, refer to the readme/release files that come with each directory. You can also read the quick guide provided by QLogic, for information that is applicable to the IBM HBAs. 2.0 Change History ____________________ software product Version Previous 2.0 release Windows 2000/2003 SCSI miniport driver (32bit) 2.1.3.0 2.1.3.0 Windows 2003 STORport driver (32bit) 2.1.3.8 2.1.3.5 Windows 2003 STORport driver (64bit) 2.1.3.8 2.1.3.5 Windows 32 NDIS 2.0.1.6 2.0.1.3 Windows 64 NDIS 2.0.1.6 2.0.1.3 Windows iSCSI SANSurfer 4.03.07 4.03.07 Linux driver kernel 2.4 3.25 3.24 Linux driver kernel 2.6 5.00.06 5.00.05 Linux iSCSI SANsurfer 4.03.07 4.03.07 HBA BIOS (QLA4050/C) 1.08 1.06 HBA Firmware (QLA4050/C) 2.0.0.25 2.0.0.19 HBA BIOS (QLA4010C) 1.11 1.11 HBA Firmware (QLA4010C) 3.0.0.4 3.0.0.4 Key enhancements and changes: Latest signed NDIS drivers sw for Windows 2003 for enhanced ethernet performance and better co-existence with iSCSI function.
