H003324: ORACLE JAVA AND SYMBIOS SYMPLICITY REQUIRES 1MB VRAM SYMPTOM: The Oracle for Windows NT Java based program and the Symbios Symplicity Storage Manager cannot be run together, and cannot be run sequentially without rebooting on the system. PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS: - The system is a Netfinity 7000 server, Type 8651, any Model configured with Oracle Parallel Server. - The system has less than One (1) Megabyte Video RAM. - Supported configurations can be found at the following URL: http://www.pc.ibm.com/us/compat/clustering/matrix.shtml look for "Oracle Parallel Server" FIX: Upgrade Video RAM to One (1) Megabyte. If you find the customer does not have the full 1MB of video memory, and they are running the server in an Oracle OPS environment using the IBM Oracle OPS cluster enabler software, please contact the HelpCenter for assistance to receive this memory. Ask the HelpCenter representative to refer to HelpCenter Reference Library document RPC-9757 for specific details. This process is only valid for customers using their Netfinity 7000 in an Oracle OPS Cluster environment. Approval to receive this memory is subject to validation of this environment. Customers not running this environment should refer to their Netfinity 7000 User's guide for information on how to outsource this memory. DETAILS: Symplicity Storage Manager requires 800X600 resolution and Oracle Java based program requires 256 colors. The system may not have enough Video RAM to support the required resolution of 800X600 with 256 colors. The minimum required Video RAM to support this resolution is One (1) Megabyte.
