PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS: This tip may apply to any model of IBM Commercial Desktop or IBM IntelliStation system that features the ability to enable or disable PCI Parity in the BIOS Setup utility. This tip also aplies to Netfinity 3000 type 8476 systems. The symptoms may be experienced under various Windows and OS/2 operating systems. FIX: Before replacing hardware, PCI Parity generation may need to be disabled and the system restarted. PCI Parity generation may be disabled under PCI Control via the following steps: 1. Press during post to run the setup utility. 2. Highlight "Advanced Setup" and press . 3. Highlight "PCI Control" and press . 4. Highlight "PCI Parity" and change to Disabled. 5.
