 Abstract:  WINDOWS NT 4.0 "LOW ON REGISTRY QUOTA" ERROR


 SYMPTOM:
 During the installation of a new application, WindowsNT 4.0
 returns the following, or similar error message:

   "System Process - Low on Registry Quota"

 PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:
 This tip applies, but is not limited to, IBM PC300PL Series
 6862/6892 systems preloaded, or installed with retail versions
 of WindowsNT 4.0.

 FIX:
 Increase the Maximum Registry Size limit via the following
 steps:

 1. Right click the My Computer icon on the WindowsNT
    desktop.
 2. Click on Properties.
 3. Click on the Performance tab.
 4. Click on the "Change" button in the Virtual Memory
    section.
 5. In the Registry Size section, increase the current value
    in the "Maximum Registry Size (MB):" window by 5MB.
    (Example: If current value is 12, new value will be 17)
 6. Click OK. When prompted, click Yes to restart the system
    for the change to take effect.
