H164353: NETFINITY 5500: HANG WITH UNATTENDED BOOT / PASSWORD / OS/2 SYMPTOM: The System hangs at the OS/2 logo screen while booting to OS/2 Warp Server version 4.0. PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS: - The System is any model Netfinity 5500 server Type 8660. - The System is configured with OS/2 Warp Server version 4.0. - OS/2 fix pack 35 has been applied to the System. - The "Power-on Password" is enabled via the "F1 Configuration / Setup" utility at POST. - "Allow for unattended boot with password" is enabled via the "F1 Configuration / Setup" utility at POST - System Diagnostics pass. FIX: This problem is fixed with a new level of the IBMKD.SYS driver which will be available in a future fix pack release for OS/2 at which time this RETAIN Record will be updated. WORKAROUND: Apply the older level of the IBMKBD.SYS available in OS/2 fix pack 32, diskette # 6.
