H164730: NETFINITY 5500: GETTING 1601 AND 012991XX POST ERRORS SYMPTOM: The front panel System Error light is lit and the Netfinity 5500 is experiencing all of the following POST error messages: - 1601 The service Processor flash must be upgraded - 01299140 Processor board has an invalid serial number - 01299170 DASD backplane has an invalid serial number - 01299181 Power backplane has an invalid serial number PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS: - The system is a Netfinity 5500 server, Type 8660, Models 11U, 11X, 1RU, 1RX, 41U, 41X, 42U, 42X, 4RU, 4RX, 4SU, 4SX, 51U, 51X, 52U, 52X, 5RU, 5RX, 5SU, 5SX, A1U and ERU. - The system's integrated Service Processor's firmware is less than 39A. FIX: The fix for this problem is provided via a new firmware for the service processor integrated in the Netfinity 5500. The following is the diskette name and where to get it. Netfinity 5500 Advanced System Management Processor Firmware Update Diskette v1.01 or later. This Diskette image may be downloaded from the following URL: http://www.pc.ibm.com/us/files.html - Select "Search" - Type "Netfinity 5500" to locate the above diskette image. - Select the file (by the above description(s) to download. - These are self-extracting executable files that prompt for one diskette each.
