H165005: NETWARE NOT CONNECTING WITH 10/100 FAULT TOLERANT ADAPTER TEXT: NetWare not connecting with 10/100 Fault Tolerant Adapter SYMPTOMS: Incorrect driver will be installed for "IBM Netfinity 10/100 Fault Tolerant Adapter" resulting in a non-functioning LAN adapter. PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS: - The system is one of the following IBM Netfinity servers: Netfinity 5000 server, Type 8659, any Model. Netfinity 5500 server, Type 8660, any Model. - The system is configured with a "IBM Netfinity 10/100 Fault Tolerant Adapter". - The system is configured with Novell NetWare v.4.11. WORKAROUND: If your server has an "IBM Netfinity 10/100 Fault Tolerant Adapter" installed, and the integrated ethernet controller on the system board is disabled, you must do the following to allow ServerGuide to copy the necessary drivers for the adapter to properly work: For the Netfinity 5000 server before using the SoftwareGuide CD: - Change the system configuration settings (F1) to enable the integrated ethernet controller on the system board before using the SoftwareGuide CD, (you may disable it again after using this CD). For the Netfinity 5500 server before using the SoftwareGuide CD: - Turn off the server and then disconnect the server power cords. - Remove the server cover (refer to the Netfinity 5500 server User's Handbook). - Ensure a jumper is installed on pins 1 and 2 of J5. The integrated ethernet is enabled when a jumper is on pins 1 and 2 of J5. A jumper on pins 2 and 3 of J5 disables the integrated ethernet. - Reinstall the server cover and connect the cables. You may disable the integrated ethernet controller again after using the SoftwareGuide CD. TRADEMARKS: Other company, product and service names may be the trademarks or service marks of others.
