IBM Drive Letter Access (DLA) for Microsoft Windows 98SE, 2000, and XP version 4.95 build 35b Installation Readme This package is the full version of IBM Drive Letter Access (DLA) Version 4.95. It is a bug-fix update from previous versions. This update requires approximately 20MB of space on your hard disk (drive C). Print this file so that you can refer to it during the installation. Determine the version of IBM DLA installed on your system --------------------------------------------------------- 1. Double-click My Computer. 2. Right-click on the icon for your recordable drive. 3. Click Properties. 4. Click the DLA tab. 5. Click Version information. The About IBM DLA dialog will appear. Look for Version and Build. Downloading the update ---------------------- 1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page. 2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save the downloaded file. Installing the update --------------------- Note: Before installing this update, Uninstall any previously installed versions of IBM DLA. See "Uninstalling IBM DLA" below for instructions. 1. Click Start, click Find or Search, then click Files and folders. 2. Type b91z83usa.exe in the search field, then click Search. This will locate the file you just downloaded. 3. Double-click the icon for b91z83usa.exe. 4. Click Next. Read the license agreement. 5. Click I accept the terms in the license agreement. 6. Click Next. 7. Ensure that "Save files in folder" is set to C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\B91Z83US. 8. Click Next. 9. Click Finish. 10. Click Start, then click Run. 11. Type C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\B91Z83US\setup.exe, then click OK. The setup program will run. Follow all onscreen prompts and reboot your system when done. Uninstalling IBM DLA -------------------- 1. Click Start, select Settings, click Control Panel. 2. Double-click Add or Remove Programs. 3. Click IBM DLA. 4. Click Remove. Follow the onscreen instructions to remove IBM DLA.
