GNU make 3.78.1
Mark <mark@ibiblio.org>
What is it
GNU make 3.78.1 determines automatically which pieces of a large program need
to be recompiled, and issues the commands to recompile them. Of course you will
need to have a Makefile to provide the relevant prerequisites and guidelines.
You can use make with any
programming language whose compiler can be run with a shell command.
Indeed, make is not limited
to programs. You can use it to describe any task where some files must be
updated automatically from others whenever the others change.

Solaris Issues
In order not to inadvertantly clash with the make
shipped with Solaris, the binary contained in this package has been called
gmake, somewhat of an convention in itself.
